Discover the Heart and Soul Behind Maple Farm Bassets

We are a small, family breeder nestled on a farm in Northeast Georgia. We chose Basset Hounds because of their peaceful disposition and good nature towards children.  We got our first Basset as a puppy and she was the color of maple syrup, so we named her Maple. She is a delight to our family, and we wanted to be able to share this joy with other families, too. So Maple Farm Bassets was born!

We breed only high-quality, AKC-registered, 100% European Basset Hounds.  Our Bassets are health tested and our puppies come with a health guarantee. If you would like to have your very own Basset puppy, check out our Puppies Page to see available puppies and Purchase a Puppy Page for all the details. We're so glad you're here! We would love to answer any questions you have. Feel free to drop us a line on our Contact Page. Whether you're looking for a puppy or just wanting to learn more about this amazing breed, we're happy to help you find what you're looking for!

Learn About Caring for Your Basset Hound

Essential tips for adopting and raising your new best friend.

What are some essential Basset Hound care tips?
Basset Hounds thrive on routine and a nurturing environment. Ensure they receive regular exercise, a balanced diet, and regular vet check-ups. Their ears need weekly cleaning to prevent infections, and don't forget that their gentle temperament loves the affection of their family. Socialization and training from an early age help them develop good behavior.
Where can I find Basset Hound puppies for sale near me?
You can check local breeders listed on reputable kennel club websites or visit adoption centers that specialize in Basset Hounds. At Maple Farm Bassets, we often have adorable Basset Hound puppies available for loving homes.
How do I properly train my Basset Hound?
Training should focus on positive reinforcement, as Basset Hounds respond best to kindness. Start with basic commands and gradually introduce more complex tasks. Frequent, short training sessions work best, along with integrating playtime to keep their attention.
